HEAD COACHES - Fordham promoted Ed Foley to head coach to replace
Dave Clawson, who resigned after five seasons to take over the
program at Richmond... Kent State’s Dan Pees resigned after
six seasons as head coach to become linebackers coach for the New
England Patriots... Mike Lazusky was elevated to head coach at
Hiram to succeed Mike Meyer, who resigned... Doug Martin was promoted
to head coach at Kent State... LaSalle’s Archie Stalcup resigned
as head coach... Bowie State named Michael J. Lynn Jr. as head
coach to replace Henry Frazier.
ASSISTANTS - Arlington Nunn was selected as running backs
coach at Mississippi... Southeast Missouri State named Rob Likens
as
offensive coordinator... Scott Lakatos was awarded responsibilities
as defensive backs coach at Connecticut... James Madison tabbed
Jeff Durden as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, and
Chip West as defensive backs coach. The school also reassigned
George Barlow as defensive coordinator and Eddie Davis as special
teams coordinator and tight ends coach... Mike Cassity was selected
as defensive coordinator at Louisville... Rutgers appointed John
McNulty as wide receivers coach and Chris Demarest as defensive
backs coach. The school also promoted Darren Rizzi to assistant
head coach, Joe Susan to recruiting coordinator and Phil Galiano
to linebackers coach... Jeremy Cameron was selected as quarterbacks
coach at Wagner... New Mexico State appointed Clint Brown as defensive
backs coach... UCLA hired Jim Svoboda as quarterbacks coach...
South Carolina receivers coach Rick Stockstill assumed additional
responsibilities as recruiting coordinator... James Joseph was
named as running backs coach at Troy State... Wisconsin-Stout hired
Bret Diersen as a defensive assistant coach... Illinois State chose
Jim Williams as an assistant coach... Baylor named Bill Bradley
as defensive coordinator to replace John Goodner... Pittsburgh
appointed Pete Carmichael as wide receivers coach... Chris Clopton
was selected as a graduate assistant coach at Purdue... Buffalo
named Tom Jones as defensive coordinator, Roy Istvan as offensive
coordinator, Doug Socha as recruiting coordinator, Andy Rondeau
as assistant defensive coordinator and safeties coach, Scott Pethtel
as special teams coordinator and inside linebackers coach, Allen
Mogridge as running backs coach, Ryan Groneman as assistant strength
and conditioning coach and Dan Lindsay as a graduate assistant
coach... Tim Albin was hired as offensive coordinator at North
Dakota State... Southeast Missouri State named Damon Bradford as
defensive coordinator... Wayne State (Michigan) added Mark Elder
as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, E.J. Henderson
as wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator and Keith Uecker
as offensive line coach... Orlando Mitjans was elevated to defensive
coordinator at Towson... Northwestern State awarded additional
responsibilities to Johnny Nagle as passing game coordinator, Chris
Truax as running game coordinator and Brad Laird as assistant head
coach. Nagle will continue as running backs coach and Truax will
retain duties as offensive line coach. Laird will remain defensive
coordinator and linebackers coach. The school also moved tight
ends coach Broderick Fobbs to wide receivers coach and shifted
Ben Beasley to tight ends coach... LSU selected Mike Collins as
linebackers coach... Northern Illinois tabbed Levern Belin as defensive
interior coach, John Bond as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks
coach and Marquis Mosely as wide receivers coach. The school also
elevated Sam Pittman to assistant head coach and offensive line
coach and shifted Greg Bower to tight ends coach from defensive
interior coach...
