Third and Short© More from this issueCelina’s state-record win-streak ends at 68 Celina High School in Celina, Texas, had its state-record winning streak end at 68 games Saturday, Nov. 23, with a 21-20 loss to Daingerfield in the second round of the Class 3A Division II playoffs. Celina had won four straight Class 2A Division II state titles, including a state-record 25 straight playoff games during the streak, and its first 11 games this season. The Bobcats entered the playoffs as 3A’s third-ranked team in the Associated Press high school football poll. Celina’s loss wasn’t all that unexpected since they were bumped up to 3A during the University Interscholastic League’s realignment in February.
