The two in-state rivals, who played their first 69 meetings in either Boulder or Fort Collins, met last season at Mile High Stadium for the first time. School officials signed a contract to continue the Invesco Rocky Mountain Showdown in the final two years of Mile High Stadium's existence. Mile High will be replaced by a new Broncos stadium in 2001. Colorado won last season's showdown 42-14 before 76,036 fans, the largest crowd to witness a college sporting event in state history.
